Ports of Auckland keeps busy

Ports of Auckland said the volume of containers it handled in the 12 months to the end of April this year rose by 3 per cent to 665,289 TEUs (twenty foot equivalent units).

For the month of April, volumes were up 5 per cent compared with April last year.

Full import container volumes rose 3 per cent and full export container volumes were down 1 per cent for the year.

For the month, full import container volumes were up 12 per cent and full export container volumes were down 5 per cent on April 2003.
