Port to buy logistics firm

Lyttelton Port of Christchurch will acquire NZ Express Transport Christchurch, a logistics company.

Peter Davie, the port's chief executive, said the logistics company was a strategic fit in line with the port's container terminal growth plans.

The NZE purchase will give the port an extra 9.5ha of land as well as a fleet of more than 30 trucks and more than 45 trailers. The purchase is set to close in late October.
