The 54.64M (180FT) ketch Adele is beginning a refit in Auckland. The biggest superyacht ever to have a refit done here, the work is being done by the specialist marine companies making up the Westhaven Marine cluster. Designed by Hoek Naval Architects and built by the Dutch shipyard Vitters, the yacht's spars are from Marten Spars in Auckland.

The Auckland superyacht builder Yachting Developments and Lloyds Register are the newest companies to sign on as gold sponsors for the 2007 New Zealand Millennium Cup. Lloyds says it has aligned itself with the event to be sailed out of Palma de Mallorca in June because many of the superyachts taking part in the regatta will have been built to Lloyds Register rules. The cup is expected to see about 70 superyachts of more than 30m (98ft) competing. Auckland companies High Modulus, Marten Spars and Southern Spars were the first to commit to gold sponsorship for the event.
