The Australian powerboat manufacturer Mustang Marine has teamed up with the Auckland-Tauranga company Oliver Marine. The Oliver range of flybridge sport fishers will now be produced in Australia for sale around the world with the Mustang brand. Oliver retains the intellectual property and all R & D will remain in Tauranga. The new joint venture line-up will have two new models at 11.3m (37ft) and 12.5m (41ft) in production at Mustang's Gold Coast yard by November.

Royal Akarana Yacht Club is putting the Auckland-White Island race back on the calendar for the first time in nearly 20 years. The race, a round trip of just over 300 miles, will start from Orakei Wharf on December 1. It will be a Category 2 event for keelboat, short-handed and multi-hull divisions. Details on link below.

Riveria, the Queensland powerboat builder, and Martimo, established by Riveria founder Bill Barry-Cotter after he sold out, is on the move in the US. Riveria has bought a marina on the St Lucie River in Stuart, Florida, for A$7 million. It will be the headquarters of the company's US subsidiary. Martimo USA has bought 34 cruisers from the parent company in Australia. The order is valued at A$50 million and the boats must be delivered within 12 months.
