Ad Lib, a 40m motor-yacht from the Auckland company Alloy Yachts in Henderson, was judged the world's best superyacht at the marine industry Oscars in Venice this month. The award is judged by a panel of independent superyacht industry professionals, including project managers, captains, engineers and owners. Judging criteria included quality, innovation, ease of operation and ecological impact.

Bob Tait, managing director of the Wellington company Diversified Products, was re-elected president at the annual meeting of the Marine Industry Association. Vice-presidents are Alan Russell, from Reflex Products in Christchurch and April Vaudrey, from the Auckland company Vaudrey Miller.
