New car registrations totalled 5989 in July compared with 6392 in June and down 4.9 per cent from July 2005, Land Transport New Zealand said yesterday. Used car registrations - generally imported used cars - totalled 10,318 last month, 23 per cent down on July a year ago.
New commercial vehicle registrations were 2012, down from the 2574 recorded a month earlier, and down 13.7 per cent on July 2005.
The top selling make in July was Ford with 955 new cars, followed by Toyota with 855 new cars.
