New Zealand new car registrations totalled 6382 in July, down 0.3 per cent on June but up 6.6 per cent on a year ago, Land Transport NZ said today.
Used car registrations - generally imported used cars - totalled 11,069 last month, 10.61 per cent ahead last month ago and 7.3 per cent up from a year ago, the government agency said in a statement.
New commercial vehicle registrations during the month were 2430, down from the 2530 recorded a month earlier, but up 20.8 per cent on July 2006.
The top selling make in July was Toyota with 1001 new cars, followed by Holden with 864 new cars.
