Fares on Auckland's public transport services are going up today.
Auckland Transport says they're brought about by higher operational costs, which are determined by the Transport Agency.
There's also a transition underway to a new zoning system, aimed at making the system fairer for people travelling longer distances.
Adult HOP card users will pay ten cents more on stages one to four on both train and bus services.
