Auckland's Canada Street Bridge, part of the LightPath cycleway, has won a prestigious American architectural award.
Hamish Monk and Dean Mackenzie from Monk Mackenzie Architects worked with structural engineers Novare Design and GHD to design the new bridge for the New Zealand Transport Authority.
That bridge has just won a Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design Award prize and Mackenzie said he was delighted.
"That's a prestigious international award," Mackenzie said.
The Chicago Athenaeum Museum describes its awards as the world's foremost international distinguished building, landscape architecture and urbanism awards programme.
