ARH vows not to increase Port takeover bid

Auckland Regional Holdings says it will not increase its $8-a-share takeover bid for Ports of Auckland, despite a lukewarm response from independent directors.

Last Friday, the port company's independent directors refused to make a recommendation on the offer, saying it was fair but may not be reasonable. The offer values the port company at $848 million.
