Wind power in India

India hopes to almost double its wind power generation to 10,000 megawatts by the end of next year to meet rising energy demand and cut its reliance on coal and oil, a government official says.

Capacity in the world's fourth-largest wind power generator rose 45 per cent in the year to March to 5340 megawatts.
