Efforts to cut electricity use have been reflected in power prices, as cutbacks in demand, steady hydro conditions and modifications to transmission grid capacity all played a part in reducing wholesale spot electricity prices during the past week.
The M-co NZ power price index closed on Saturday at 11.9019c a kilowatt hour.
That was a decline of 8.68 per cent from the previous week's close.
