Todd Energy's bid to block the sale to Contact Energy of rights to gas from the Maui field has been rejected.
Todd had applied to the Commerce Commission for a cease-and-desist order on the deal signed in October.
But yesterday, the commission told Todd Energy it had decided against the request.
