NZ index values shifted slightly lower last week as spot prices in the energy market remained volatile due to transmission constraints across the HVDC inter-island connector and in the central North Island.
This resulted in decreased energy prices in the South Island and lower North Island and increased prices north of Taupo. The NZ index closed Saturday 4 November at 3.3717 c/kWh, a 0.21 per cent decline from the previous week's close.
