A report on two proposed power stations for Lake Hawea near Wanaka posted on the Economic Development Ministry's website is raising anger in Otago.
The report suggests a Lake Hawea hydro-electric scheme proposal, with 30MW and 60MW power stations and a canal, could be resurrected or fast-tracked under an amended Resource Management Act.
Contact Energy moved to settle the fuss, saying it had already announced plans to seek resource consent for a 16MW power station at Lake Hawea.
