NZ index values rose last week, as spot prices in the energy market firmed on the back of generator outages.
With decreased flows across the inter-island connector and through the central North Island, transmission constraints were less prevalent, bringing narrower price differences between the upper northern region and the rest of the country.
The NZ index closed on Saturday at 4.0415c/kWh.
This represented a 25 per cent increase on the closing figure the previous week.
