Falling demand and reasonably good water inflows in some South Island catchments saw wholesale spot prices in the NZ electricity market steadily decline over the week.
This also brought about a reduction in the frequency of transmission constraints which, in turn, contributed to the spot price falls.
The M-co NZ index closed on Saturday at 13.0327c/kWh, a 45.7 per cent drop from the previous week's close.
