New Zealand Oil & Gas is welcoming the opening up of new oil exploration areas but says it has some areas worth looking at in its existing permits.
The Government has released data on two offshore blocks in the unexplored Raukumara Basin off East Cape, and on four offshore blocks in Northland.
The bidding round will close in January 2010.
