The NZ Refining Co (NZRC) has appointed Jerome Kerrigan as chief executive, replacing Thomas Zengerly who had the job for 3-1/2 years.
Mr Kerrigan had more than 30 years' experience in the oil industry, and had been with NZRC for the past 20 years in various operational and commercial roles, the company said today.
He was seconded to Shell for four years in Thailand to lead the start-up of the Rayong Refinery in the late 1990s.
NZRC owns the Marsden Pt refinery and is the country's only refiner. Its share register is dominated by the big petrol retailers Mobil, BP, Shell and Caltex.
