The only floating, production, storage and off-take vessel in New Zealand waters, the Whakaaropai, has set sail after sitting off the Taranaki coast for 10 years.
The Whakaaropai - a converted Suezmax tanker capable of handling 44,000 barrels of oil a day - is being sent for refurbishment in Asia after pumping about 35 million barrels of crude oil from the Maui gas field, the Energyreview.net reports.
