Rockgas has raised its prices for the second time this winter as it has been forced to import almost double the amount of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) it expected.
The gas retailer has advised its 15,000 South Island customers that they will have to pay an extra $1.87 to fill a 45kg cylinder, taking the price to $78.26.
That follows hard on the heels of a move by Rockgas to lift its prices the previous month, when it told customers they could budget for their bills to go up to $76.39 from $72.16, a rise of $4.23.
