KEY POINTS:
Japan's Hitachi and US-based General Electric plan to form a joint venture in the nuclear power business in Japan and the United States, Hitachi said yesterday.
Hitachi will own 80 per cent of the Japan-based venture, compared with 20 per cent held by GE.
Hitachi will hold 40 per cent in the US-based business, while GE has 60 per cent.
