Aucklanders woke up early to switch on the television and make a cup of tea to watch the All Blacks secure their spot in the Rugby World Cup final on Sunday morning.
Vector Limited - which owns and operates the electric network in greater Auckland - saw electricity demand once again shoot up for Sunday morning's test match.
Vector reported a big lift in demand for electricity at kick-off at 4am, and again at half-time, when people got up off the couch to maybe make a cup of tea or put some toast on to settle the nerves.
Usage dropped away at 6am when the All Blacks had beaten the tough Springboks and locked in their place in this week's final.
Vector crews had a quiet week last week, with five incidents of cars crashing into poles and four house fires that needed electricity isolated for the safety of Fire Service crews.
