WELLINGTON - United Networks is looking to a reshuffle of its senior management as the final phase of integrating its network operations.
The proposed rejig will affect about 20 jobs with a net loss of three, and will see many senior management jobs head away from Auckland and back to the networks acquired from Tauranga based TrustPower, and Wellington's TransAlta.
Spokeswoman Avon Adams said control of networks had initially been centralised in Auckland so that systems, contracts and work practices could be standardised and the same culture imbued throughout the organisation.
With that achieved it was possible to return control to the regions, while undertaking a redesign that would lift operations such as engineering and sales out of their separate "silos" and into integrated regional structures. Ms Adams said the management restructuring was still only a proposal, with staff feedback and other factors to be taken into account before being finalised.
