KEY POINTS:
LOS ANGELES - Edison International electric utility subsidiary Southern California Edison said on Thursday it has signed the biggest wind power contract in US history with Australian company Alta Windpower Development LLC, a subsidiary of Allco Financial Group Inc.
The pact is for at least 1500 megawatts of wind power to be generated in the windy Tehachapi region in California. The project will be three times the size of biggest current US wind farm, said So Cal Ed.
