Common shares in oil and gas explorer Austral Pacific Energy started trading on the American Stock Exchange (Amex) on April 18.
Austral -- based in New Zealand but incorporated in Canada -- explores for commercial quantities of hydrocarbons.
Amex offers trading across a full range of equities, options and exchange traded funds. It also trades option on broad-based and sector indexes as well as domestic and foreign stocks.
Meanwhile, Austral appointed New Zealander Bruce McGregor as its new chief financial officer, the statement to NZX said.
Mr McGregor has worked in the New Zealand oil and gas industry since 1994 where he has held senior accounting and finance roles for large New Zealand firms.
On the New Zealand Exchange, Austral Pacific's shares last traded at $4.24 on April 18, having ranged between $2.00 and $4.81 in the past year.
