The sharemarket edged up in early trading in what will be a half-day of trading ahead of the Easter break.
Shortly after the 10am open the NZX-50 gross index was up 1.48 points at 3764.05, while the NZX-All capital was down 0.65 of a point 1097.23.
Top stock Telecom was down 3c at 574, but this was offset by gains in fellow blue chips with Contact Energy up 5c at 800 and Fletcher Building up 6c at 932.
Air New Zealand was unchanged at 130, after confirming last night plans to code-share with Qantas for trans-Tasman flights.
The market will close early today and not resume until next Tuesday, after the Easter public holidays.
