Delegats toasts bubbly

Delegats Group is toasting the launch of Oyster Bay Sparkling Cuvee Brut and Oyster Bay Sparkling Cuvee Rose in the New Zealand and Australian markets.

The company told shareholders at its annual meeting yesterday that the launch was successful and that sparkling wine represented a major growth opportunity for the group.

"The Oyster Bay core consumer demographic is strongly aligned with the sparkling wine consumer and the brand's aspirational 'everyday affordable luxury' positioning is ideally matched to the social and celebratory nature of sparkling wine consumption occasions," managing director Jim Delegat told shareholders yesterday.

He said so far the group had been largely unaffected by a supply imbalance in the industry, which was expected to persist for another two to three years.
