Former Fisher Funds chief investment officer Warren Couillault is setting up his own fund management firm and will be back in business by the end of the year.
Couillault left Fisher Funds in February 2007 after resigning as a director.
But he was stopped from setting up his own fund management business until February last year by a restraint of trade agreement.
The fund would invest in the New Zealand sharemarket, similar to the New Zealand Growth fund he jointly ran at Fishers with managing director Carmel Fisher.
But the fund would not have as many limitations on which stocks it could invest in and would also include fixed-interest investments.
