A survey of 500 property people showed most still had at least half a year's work on their books.
Most of those questioned by online library eBoss said they expected their industry to recover within the next two years although 98 per cent said the situation would get worse before it got better. Two-thirds said to hold on tight for a worsening situation for at least six month, although a third expected the time frame to be longer than a year.
Statistics NZ data on building consents could today bring further bad news for the construction and building sector. But the architects, designers, builders, engineers, interior designers, specifiers and suppliers questioned by eBoss said staying optimistic was a key to being in business.
