SYDNEY - Multiplex Group Ltd has won a A$389 million ($412 million) contract to build an 86-storey office tower in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Construction of the project, known as "the Index" is expected to begin next month and the contract will last three years.
The tower will have 25 levels of office space, 50 levels of parking, retail and other services, and 520 residential apartments and penthouses.
It is located at the Dubai International Finance Centre.
The design of the building will be handled by architects, Woods Bagot, and structural engineers, Gilchrist and Evans.
The project managers will be edara-APP, a joint venture between Dubai-based project managers, edara, and APP, an Australian project management company.
Multiplex secured the contract through its UAE subsidiary, Nasa Multiplex.
