Roof trusses are going on Auckland's new waterfront Viaduct Events Centre.
A milestone was reached in construction of the 6000sq m building last week when the first of 14 roof trusses was lifted into position.
Each truss is 40m long, 7.5m wide and weighs 55 tonnes.
The centre is being built by Auckland City Council and will be ready for Rugby World Cup 2011, offering exhibition, meeting and hospitality space.
Hawkins Construction is the main contractor on the job and D&H Steel made the trusses.
