Families uprooted in Shanghai

More than 20,000 families are being moved out of the area where the 2010 World Expo will be held in Shanghai, China.

The city is now under a large scale reconstruction effort to prepare for the event.

According to the city's development plan, 300 businesses will also be moved out of a 10 square kilometre area around the future Expo site, state media reported.

Exhibition venues will be built at the South Waterfront Bund.
