The big day is approaching for finalists in the Westpac Auckland business awards.
More than 100 finalists have been announced for the awards, run by Auckland Tourism, Events, and Economic Development (Ateed), which have separate divisions for the southern, northern and central areas of the city.
Contenders include Howick Engineering, a manufacturer of machines used to build steel framed buildings, nanofibre technology developer Revolution Fibres and Apollo Entertainment, which supplies and designs 12 volt entertainment systems for motor homes, caravans, boats and super yachts.
Ateed chief executive Brett O'Riley said the awards were an important growth programme for Auckland.
"For long-term success, businesses must constantly analyse their performance and look for growth opportunities," O'Riley said. "Ateed's business awards ... offer businesses the chance to review their current offering, build their capability and celebrate with their peers."
