Kiwibank has launched a new application, Home Hunter, for people looking for houses and mortgages.
Paul Brock, chief executive, said the application for a smartphone, tablet or desktop would enable people to seek home loan pre-approvals in 10 minutes.
This would then mean they could look for a place, armed with the information they needed.
"You could be sitting in a café in Parnell and Kiwibank Home Hunter will tell you which houses in the area match your pre-approval, it will give you registered values, comparable house sales and estimated sale prices for properties on the market," Brock said.
"A buyer could be standing in an open home, use the app to generate an estimated sale price and have pre-approval to buy it before they are back in their car, as the end-to-end process takes less than 10 minutes."
