HSBC has appointed Chris Russell as its New Zealand chief executive.
Russell is taking over from Noel McNamara, who has been CEO since 2011, who is taking the role of chief risk officer of HSBC in Australia.

Russell has been working for HSBC since 2005 and joins its New Zealand business from HSBC in Australia, where he was head of banking.
Before joining HSBC, Russell was at National Australia Bank (NAB) and Barclays Bank Australia.
