Insolvency expert and former BNZ chairman John Waller has died.
Last year he was made an Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to business and the community.
The former PwC partner was also a Fonterra director and as chairman of the Eden Park Redevelopment Board was instrumental in helping New Zealand secure the hosting rights to the 2011 Rugby World Cup.
Waller served on the BNZ and NAB boards for eight years before retiring last year.
BNZ chief executive Anthony Healy said Waller's career was outstanding.
