Aucklanders looking to withdraw cash from ATMs might be in trouble as security guards used to replenish ATM machines in the city go on strike.
Service and Food Workers Union Industry Leader Jill Ovens said the union gave written notice of the strike this morning after guards working for the security company ACM had left for their daily run.
At 10am, 28 guards will return their trucks to the company's East Tamaki base and walk off the job over stalled pay negotiations.
ATMs won't be replenished with cash while the guards are striking.
ASB Bank confirmed they used a different security firm that was not involved in any industrial action, so their ATMs were not affected.
