ADELAIDE - Australian wine exports hit a new record in the year to September, the Australian Wine and Brandy Corporation says.
Exports jumped to A$3.02 billion ($3.59 billion) in the period, a 9 per cent increase from the year-before result, the corporation said in its monthly wine export approval report. The total marks a new high for a 12-month period.
Wine exports also grew 9 per cent in volume to 804 million litres in the year.
Britain remained the largest and most lucrative market for Australian wine exports, with the UK market taking 290 million litres worth A$977 million ($1.163 billion).
Next, the United States imported 217 million litres worth A$952 million, followed by Canada with 52 million litres worth A$283 million.
