KEY POINTS:
Wellington Airport's passenger numbers have continued to rise following its inclusion in Pacific Blue domestic network in November.
March domestic passengers were 17 per cent above the previous year , and domestic capacity increased by 23 per cent on the year before.
Total domestic passengers for the airport's financial year to March were 8.6 per cent ahead of the previous year.
International passenger numbers in March were up 9.1 per cent on the same month a year ago, despite 2 per cent fewer seats.
Over the March year Wellington received 4.9 per cent more international passengers , with seats having fallen by 3.2 per cent.
The airport was particularly concerned about further cuts to its trans Tasman services , saying "clearly, this approach is not sustainable".
