The Engineering, Printing and Manufacturing Union (EPMU) is calling for Origin Pacific creditors to steer clear of legal wrangles and let the liquidation of the collapsed airline go ahead or the airline's workers will lose even more money in a wrangle over who should liquidate the company.
The Nelson airline left hundreds of staff, passengers and creditors out of pocket when it went into receivership in September. Now the Engineering, Printing and Manufacturing Union says there is a threat of a fight from major creditors over the liquidator shareholders have chosen.
It says Origin Pacific workers are owed $2 million collectively, and are only likely to get 20 cents in the dollar back.
National secretary Andrew Little says it is time for the larger creditors to call it quits, rather than see what money is left disappear in legal fees.
