A Japanese firm has built an aerial drone with two arms and hawk-like talons that is capable of lifting objects that weigh as much as 10 kilograms.
That's roughly the weight of a 1-year-old, although you should not use drones to transport a child or any other living thing. Seriously.
Japan-based Prodrone is marketing the PD6B-AW-ARM as the world's first large-format drone with dual robotic arms. The hovering robot weighs 20 kg and can fly for up to 30 minutes.
"Up to now the industrial and commercial drone market has focused on using drones for photography and filming, mapping, surveying, spraying pesticides, etc., but there is increasingly strong demand for drones to be able to directly perform specific 'hands-on' operations," the company said in a statement.
