The failure of Air New Zealand and Qantas to get approval for the transtasman code-share proposal will not be the trigger for further expansion by low-cost carrier Pacific Blue.
Chief executive John Bartlett said yesterday Air NZ and Qantas would continue to be the dominant players on the Tasman route and Pacific Blue would follow its own growth plans.
In response to an Air NZ threat to cut capacity on the route, Bartlett said the airline was not about to review its operations based on something that may or may not eventuate.
