KEY POINTS:
Pacific Blue has fired another shot in the domestic airline war, bringing forward its start date and offering $9 fares on its first two days.
That follows the company's initial offer of $39 fares until the end of next February when it announced its plans in August.
The fares apply on Pacific Blue's start-up routes of Auckland-Wellington, Auckland-Christchurch, and Wellington-Christchurch.
Today the company said it would be starting flights three days earlier than previously announced, on November 12.
For that day and the next day, 3000 $9 seats would go on sale from tomorrow.
Pacific Blue general manager commercial Adrian Hamilton-Manns said more than 100,000 of the $39 fares had been sold.
