A New Zealand flight-simulator maker has cracked the United States and Chinese markets.
Christchurch-based Pacific Simulators has sold the $500,000 Boeing 737 flightdeck replicas to customers in Boston and the tourist island of Hainen.
The simulators will be located in malls.
Pacific Simulators' Iain Pero said it had tried for some time to get into the US market but the sluggish economy there had hindered progress.
It was hoped to build on the toehold in China and the US. "The exciting part of these deals is that we find as soon as we've opened a new store elsewhere in the world, interest and awareness creates fresh inquiries that generally result in more sales."
