Norris to leave Air NZ on August 31

Departing Air New Zealand chief executive Ralph Norris will leave the airline on August 31, following the release of the annual result.

A global search for a new head is underway, chairman John Palmer said.

"Given the quality and capability of the management team in place, the board is confident of a seamless transition for all aspects of the business," he said.

Shares in Air NZ were steady today at $1.40.
