The Commerce Commission has reached what it calls an important milestone in the setting of a new regulatory regime for airports.
The commission said yesterday it had published its draft decisions and reasons on the input methodologies that would be applied to the information disclosure requirements for airports. The regulatory regime will apply to specified airport services supplied by the companies operating Auckland, Christchurch and Wellington International Airports.
Commission chairman Mark Berry said independent specialists had been engaged to provide their views. It would issue its final decisions on input methodologies by December 31, and information disclosure for airports by January 1.
