SYDNEY - Qantas discount subsidiary Jetstar will be flying to New Zealand and Asia by September as part of the parent airline's move to cut costs, media reports said today.
The Australian Financial Review said Jetstar will launch a marketing campaign by the end of the month ahead of the rollout of new services, which are expected to include expected Bali.
The newspaper says Qantas plans to use the discount carrier's services for many of Qantas' short-haul leisure routes as a way of boosting Jetstar's appeal and expanding its destinations as well reducing costs.
Qantas chief executive Geoff Dixon would not say for what length of time both Qantas and Jetstar would operate parallel services.
