Don't be alarmed if you see the plane you're about to be flying on being patched up with what appears to be duct tape.
It's not duct tape, it's speed tape. Air New Zealand head of engineering Grant Crenfeldt explains that the special tape is made from aluminium with a sticky backing in the latest behind the scenes video from the national carrier.
"When a sealant isn't quite dry or we need some temporary weather proofing speed tape does the job," Crenfeldt says.
The speed tape isn't cheap either - it costs $440 per roll.
