In articles published in the Business Herald on March 16 and 17, 2000, it was claimed that Sir Selwyn Cushing had attempted to intervene in negotiations between Air New Zealand and Singapore Airlines seeking to change some aspects of the agreement for Singapore Airlines to invest in the New Zealand airline.
It is now clear, and a matter of public record, that Sir Selwyn did not attempt to change elements of the agreement that was subsequently signed by both parties.
The Business Herald accepts that Sir Selwyn did not attempt to intervene and apologises for suggesting that he had done so.
Correction and apology: Sir Selwyn Cushing
